Chris grew up just outside of St. Louis, MO, and started dancing at the age of 10. He trained on full-time dance scholarships with leading competitive dance companies as well as with Ballet Midwest, St. Louis Ballet Company, and the American Academy of Ballet at Vassar College in New York. Chris received numerous honors, recognition, and titles as both a classical and competitive dancer.
Chris started his teaching career at the age of 14. By the age of 17, Chris was teaching advanced-level master classes and award-winning competitive teams in Missouri and Indiana. Chris’s technical and creative choreography have earned top overall scores and recognition at international competitions.
In 2006 Chris moved to Chatham and joined the ATJ faculty. Since this time, he has shared his passion for dance with young dancers and adults alike. Chris continues to teach his students a strong technique while cultivating an appreciation and love for the art of dance.
Chris is fully certified with Acrobatic Arts, having completed all three teacher training programs. He has also trained in the aerial acro technique and holds an Acrobatique certification. Chris is a certified and active member of the Cecchetti Council of America and has attended the Cecchetti Summer School multiple times.
Chris loves spending his free time with his wife Melani and his two loving, energetic boys, Landon and Leo. They are the center of his world and teach him everyday about unconditional love, patience, and gratitude for the little things.
